The ski area covers a good 133km of pistes through the Ziller Valley. Along with the year-round Hintertux -just a half-hour bus drive away – the region has a total of 620km of pistes. The disadvantage is the fact you have to travel but half an hour isn’t too long. For the terrain on offer, there existsof course the excellent Vans Penken Park for freestylers and plenty of untouched powder for free riders.

If you can afford to spend a little bit more The Miramonti and Savoy Edelweiss, both three-star, are near the area.

Val Thorens makes a great area for a nonstop budget ski adventure. However, keep in mind that a journey from Val Thorens to Geneva and other corners of the 3 Valleys, say to Courchevel, is a full day out, you have to save a lot of energy to enjoy the day. You can get an affordable courchevel transfers in the airport for  a hassle free adventure. It is true that you can never really run out of ski destinations in the area.
